Been A While!
Its been a while since I last wrote, what on earth happened? Life! Things have been very busy of late.
September was travel – for the first time outside of Africa – to Germany and the UK as we went to attend arguably the world’s largest photographic expo, Photokina in Cologne.
Returning home at the end of September saw me preparing to conduct workshops for Sony at the Photo & Film Expo 2010 held at the Coca Cola Dome in Northgate. The main aim of the workshops was to demystify the differences in camera design from Mirrorless, DSLR and now Sony’s new Translucent Mirror.
Barely a week from the last day of the show and it was off to Victoria Falls to conduct the training at Sony South Africa’s launch of the new Alpha SLT-A33 and SLT-A55. Also on tour there with us was the new Sony NEX-VG10 video camera, a wonderful machine.
So there in a very brief nutshell you have it, the days of my life.
I am still trying to figure out in my head how I was this blog to work. Should it focus on just my photography and business areas or would you be entertained by my personal rambling or feeble attempts at journalism and short stories?
If anyone is out there, let me know, I would be most interested to hear your thoughts.

Durban Departure
Well, the first leg of training for Sony’s NEX cameras is drawing to a close. In 30mins we should be boarding our plane for Johannesburg and a break over the long weekend till the final stage of training next week in Johannesburg.
With having trained in Cape Town on Monday and Durban last night, Greg and I have had the chance to experience the new airport (King Shaka International) here in Durbs and the revamped airport in Cape Town. What a pleasant experience.
These airports are new, big (some too big as our feet are shot) and inviting.
We have also had great experiences on the Gautrain and all in all, though we are both feeling a tad exhausted, have enjoy the location and training and even the travel.
I will be posting some photographs and tales from our journey soon. Till then wish us a safe flight.
